In closing, I would like to share some cute dog photos compliments of JeffKnightPhotography.com. They are at the end of this column and were taken at a “Surfing Dog” audition in Irwindale California. These talented dogs competed for the opportunity to appear in the Rose Bowl Parade. The adorable canine float is being powered by a 2012 10-cylinder engine from Ford. It is Ford’s most advanced eco-friendly engine to date. This is one of the most popular floats at the Rose Parade and this year it is going to be certified by Guinness as the “World’s Heaviest and Longest” at over 50 tons. I am really proud of our Detroit powered float and reguardless of any world record – these dogs made me melt. :)

Beverly Hills Unveiling of Red Ruby Slippers - Solange Azagury-Partridge!

Recently I cliked my heels three times and pouf  I ended up at the beautiful showroom of one of LA’s most elegant jewelers, Solange Azagury-Partridge on North Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills. How cool to be invited to their one year anniversary celebration. I mean - this was no ordinary party. To help celebrate I was delighted to be one of the  very "few" selected to attend this exclusive unveiling of the authentic Red Ruby Slippers from the Wizard of Oz. Wow! (see photos above) I was more excited about seeing these up close than just about any other red carpet event - and I go to some pretty cool red carpets. However,  I LOVE the movie The Wizard of OZ! Everybody does! And I love Jewerly! This was my kind of party! To get the scoop, click my Ruby Red Heels  three times in the link:

In the  interview below I chat with  store manager, the lovely, Fabi Oshaneh. She is proof that even if a woman grows up to be sophisticated and beautiful, she still can have sweet memories of childhood and dream that anything is possible.. That's the magic of remembering The Wizard of Oz. That's the magic of Solange Azagury-Partridge. Every litlle girl knows that as the song says, there is "Somewhere Over the Rainbow"....... ooooh! I'm humming it now! click the Link:

In the photo below I pose with the store manager,  Fabi  Oshaneh. Be sure to check out her Rainbow Ring in the photo on the right! Geez - I love this place! What a gorgeous ring!

Interview with Joseph Maddalena, founder of Profiles in History!

As if meeting Fabi wasn't enough, I got to have a one on one chat with the world renown  Joseph Maddalena. He is the founder of Profiles in History.which is the worlds largest auctioneer of original Hollywood  memorabliia. You have seen this company a zillion times on all the pop culture media shows. Below is a photo of Joseph  and the Ruby Red Slippers followed by our interview. This man is so interesting. I hope you enjoy!.

And with me is Joseph Maddalena, founder of Profiles in History the world’s largest auctioneer of original Hollywood memorabilia. Hi Joseph.

Hi Cyndi

Now I understand that you are also the leading authenticator of Hollywood memorabilia and that’s why you’re part of this special event that we are about to see, correct?

Yes, Hollywood memorabilia, original historical autographs, documents, manuscripts and of course,…

And of course what you have in the glass case behind you. A very special showing of what might be considered one of Hollywood’s greatest treasures, is it not?

Yes Cyndi, it is the most iconic piece of cinematic history and also of pop culture. These are the Ruby Red Slippers that Judy Garland wore as Dorothy in the 1939 film classic, The Wizard of Oz.

Wow! They’re beautiful. I think they would fit me and of course Red is my favorite color, LOL! And I understand that they are for sale?

Well yes. These will go on auction December 16th and we estimate that they will bring between two and three million dollars.

Now, I had heard that there were multiple pairs used in the film.

There are four known pair that survived production. One pair is in the Smithsonian, one pair was unfortunately stolen from the Judy Garland museum in 2006, and another pair is in private hands and these, which are considered the “Hero Pair” or the “Beauty Pair”.

Why are they called that?

These were used in close up insert shots and they were kept in the best condition because of that. So when you see Dorothy click her heels three times to go back to Kansas or when the Wicked Witch of the East tries to remove them from Dorothy’s feet and is electrocuted, These are the same pair. The others pairs had felt bottoms and were used when she was running around or dancing. But these are the iconic pair and considered the most important in cinematic history.

Three million huh!? Unfortunately I didn’t bring my checkbook.
.

Between two and three million is the estimate, but who knows what they could sell for.

Joseph Maddalela founder of Profiles in History, thank you for taking the time to give all my Cyndi’s Secret’s members your expertise on this most important part of movie memorabilia Hollywood has ever produced. Thank you Joseph.

Thank you Cyndi.

So Joseph - Any words for My Cyndi's Secrets Members?........... CLICK LINK BELOW:

Below I pose with the fabulous staff from Solange Azagury -Partridge. They are from left to right Fabi Oshaneh, Jessica McCarthy, Afra Blake, Alex Andoian, Mitzuke, and Jessica McAlister. They were warm welcoming, knowledgeable and fun!

Yep - another fine visit to the Emerard city - a super chic jewelry store! :)  Hope you enjoyed the visit.  And if you have some spare change in your wallet there are always the Red Ruby Slippers. They are still available. The auction is scheduled to take place Thursday and Friday at the Paley Center for Media.in Beverly Hills, CA. Additional information can be found at the Profiles in HIstory website at www.ProfilesInHistory.com

That's Infotainment! Shhhhh! :)

STARGLOW SPOTLIGHT: Ernest Harden Jr. – J. Edgar Film Actor!

Periodically I like to shine the STARGLOW SPOTLIGHT on My Cyndi’s Secrets™ Members that excel at demonstrating inner joy and drive to be their personal best. Ernest Harden Jr. is such an individual. You may recall that I mentioned Ernest in a previous column when I met him at the “Play 4 Pups” charity basketball game that helped raise money for an animal charity. Ernest is originally from the heart of the city of Detroit. That’s right – another home grown talent. He has had starring roles in films such as White Men Can’t Jump, Skins and the Final Terror. You can catch him now in theatres in the role of chauffer James Crawford in the new Clint Eastwood film, “J. Edgar.” (More later) He is probably best remembered for the role of Marcus Henderson in the hit TV show “The Jefferson’s “.  A little My Cyndi’s Secret is that when Ernest was first cast on the show it was just for a “guest” star role. He was so well loved that producers decided to make him a regular. That show made him famous. It has been seen by 62 countries around the world for years. Some of the cast has passed away, but even today Ernest still is in contact with the others. He says that they will always be special to him.

Below are some photos of Ernest in costume on the set of J.Edgar.

Here we see Ernest posing with the film’s star Leonardo DiCaprio in the left photo and Clint Eastwood on the right.

I caught up with Ernest on his birthday just after Thanksgiving. Below is our interview. Ernest is extremely interesting and inspiring.  Enjoy!

Well First Ernest let me say "Happy Birthday" and congratulations on your latest film role in "J. Edgar"!

Thank you Cyndi,
you are an amazing talent as well. I am having a great birthday, still full from yesterday’s Thanksgiving turkey.

Ah! Well my Cyndi's Secrets exercise and diet tips will help with that "LOL" ... But  thank you and seriously, I wanted to know about your character in the film "J.Edgar".  Was he a real person?

Yes my characters name was James Crawford. He was a real person. Not made up. He was with J. Edgar as his driver for 40 years. He retired and gave the job to his brother in law after that. He was the one who actually discovered Hoover's body after he died. He went to both funerals, Hoover's and Clyde Tolson's, the FBI's next in command. I did a lot of research on him on my own after I got the role. He even ran the FBI for a short while after Hoover's death because Tolson was so upset about his lover's death he couldn't perform his duties.

Wow!  So not only was your character a real person, he was a vital part of that history.

Clint glossed over all of that in the movie saying he would have to go back and reshoot some of the stuff that had already been shot before I got there. That would just have to be another movie.

All of us from Detroit seem to share a common bond regardless of our individual experiences. What are some of your most vivid memories?

I grew up on Cody Street in a rough area on Detroit's north end. My parents came to Detroit from Atlanta Ga after graduating from Moorehouse and Spellman colleges and buying there starter house in what was then a good neighborhood. Like so many other blacks from the south did at that time thinking there would be more opportunities for them in the north. I guess because white flight, the neighborhood later went down and a lot of poor blacks moved into the area. That is where my sister and I were born.

What was your father's occupation, and did your mom work?

My father was a CPA and my mother was a school teacher and later worked for the state. My dad influenced a lot of the kids in that rough neighborhood to make something of themselves because he wore a suit and tie to work every day where everyone else was dressing and going to work in the Auto Plant.

Besides your own, were there other success stories from your neighborhood?

Our next door neighbor James McMurtry became a medical doctor, his brother Larry became the head of a Detroit advertising firm. The neighbors on the other side William Wolfolk got his PhD and became a music teacher and his brother Richard also teaches at Michigan State University. Kenneth Ingram who lived down the street graduated Harvard and Curtis Stout who lived in the house across the alley behind us became a principle of a Detroit grade school.

And then of course "You" became an actor.

I became an actor and my sister Cheryl got her PHD in music at Northwestern. -  All because of my father and mother's influence on all of us. The ghetto get's a bad rap - Especially the Detroit ghetto. A lot of good was and still is coming out of there. My last year at Pershing high school our family finally moved to Monte vista Street on Detroit's west side. It was a much nicer area, a beautiful house and my parents lived there until they died.

Your experiences growing up in Detroit and having great role models for parents seems to have had positive effects.

I had a lot of great memories from Detroit, getting my first car, finally getting a girlfriend, being accepted at MSU, hanging out and playing ball with my basketball star friends Ralph Simpson, Spencer Haywood and Mike Robinson but one of my fondest memories about Detroit was when the Tigers won the 1968 world championship. When the last out was made, everyone on our block ran out of their houses and on to the street at the same moment. It was amazing to see and to be in that and it has been engraved in my mind ever since. We partied all night. For little awhile there was nothing but love in the air all over Detroit. Detroit was fun for me; I had a great time there. I really didn't want to leave. Yet I knew that I couldn't stay there and make it as a professional actor. So I took my BA in Theatre from MSU and I left for New York and later moved to Los Angeles.

The call of Hollywood has tapped a number of us Michiganders on the shoulder. I'm always amazed at the number of exceptionally talented people I run into from Detroit and other parts of Michigan in the film business. Your personal story is inspiring and delightful.

Thank you Cyndi for your interest. I know that I gave you more than you need but my Detroit history is rich.

It is indeed.  Now Ernest, tell about the film " J. Edgar".

Our movie is in the top 10 and they feel Leonardo DiCaprio should get an Oscar for his performance. They cut my role down a lot but the movie is so big I am glad to have been a part of it. Clint Eastwood knows and likes me now and hopefully I will be able to land a great role in his next movie, a remake of the Star is Born with Beyonce as the lead. God is good!

He is indeed. Ernest, Thank you so much for sharing the personal side of your life with us.
You truly are an awesome inspiration! You deserve this recognition. It is through hard work and determination and a spirit of fun that members like you make me proud to keep My Cyndi’s Secrets  alive and strong. As we move forward into the New Year I encourage you and all our members to keep the faith and continue to keep pushing forward. Congratulations on your success! You truly do excell in the STARGLOW SPOTLIGHT! :)

Below is a photo of Ernest and me at a charity event. Continue shining your light Ernest! We Love You!

Making a “NOW” Years Resolution! – Tips to Survive the Holidays!

During the holidays it is very easy to overindulge. Many people justify this by saying “Oh heck – it’s the holidays!” It’s also common to look forward to January and all the “NEW” years resolutions.  As a result there is an abundance of excessive eating or drinking and you name it because, “all will be resolved in the “NEW” year”. Lest you think that I am a scrooge let me assure you that I am not. In fact this Christmas I plan on doing my share of indulging as well. I can’t wait to eat polish homemade Pierogies and to sip Champagne on New Years  as well as all the yummy fun stuff that goes along with being home with mom and my family.

However, it is also a fact that some people who overindulge excessively during the holidays have a terrible time bouncing back in the New Year and some never do. Consider this. The average person gains 2 pounds of weight a year. Four pounds is often gained during the holidays and 2 pounds is lost after the festivities. Therein lays a 2 pound annual weight gain. Over time that can add up to frustration!!! Yikes! What is the solution?

I propose a NOW Years Resolution. Start NOW rather than in the New Year to make the changes you want in your life. Every day of your life is a new day starting NOW and including January 2012. You can still allow yourself a healthy amount of indulgence but rather than eating absolutely everything in sight why not be selective. Save the indulging for foods that you really do love and not wasted calories on snacks that are just there. I personally find that it is harder to get my fitness workouts in during the holidays. Yesterday I stopped at the gym in my street clothes and did a quick round of some of the upper body machines using lighter weight than I normally would. My walk in the evening was a bit shorter than usual but at least I did something. That’s what makes for a successful NOW resolution – get it?!

A NOW Years resolution is not just about food and exercise. Decide what changes you want to make in your life and live each day in the NOW moment. For example, if you plan to quit smoking in 2012 start NOW by enrolling in a smoking cessation clinic. Make the call today. It may start in January but the change begins NOW. You may be single and want to actively get out there and meet someone. Why wait till 2012 to make your move. Begin a little friendly flirting while you’re out Shopping or at the next holiday mixer.  Whatever your goals are in life begin each day with a fresh start and you will find you can move towards reaching all your dreams and goals and what is even more important is that you will experience a journey of joy along the way.

Life is too short so I say – InJOY!

 Love ya,
Cyndi Targosz

Mario Lopez: Support American Heroes! (Wed, 07 Dec 2011 07:03:00 GMT)

Welcome to My Cyndi’s Secrets™ Infotainment Page
Embrace a joy of life -.Joie de vivre!
Be the Personal Best YOU Can Be!  Ooo la la!

Shhhhh! My Cyndi’s Secrets™

My Dear Friends,

I struggled with today’s column because I am passionate about our troops and vets. You see - today December 7, 2011; marks the 70th anniversary of the Japanese air and naval attack on Pearl Harbor in which over 2,400 members of the United States Military were killed. It was this horrendous event that launched the U.S. into World War II. These brave men and women must never be forgotten. They are truly American heroes! Still…….. I did not want to do a sad commentary about the past. Not long ago we remembered 9-11, the economy sucks, people are struggling everywhere and frankly - I just want to deliver some JOY!

So I thought hmmmm!?! Very few of the military survivors from that era are still with us. The youngest remaining are said to be in their late 80’s. What kind of prolific message would the ghosts from that fatal day at Pearl Harbor whisper to the world? Then – I got it! We can honor them by supporting present day American Heroes! We can honor them by striving for global peace while never ever taking our freedom for granted!  Thanks to the brave men and women who have passed on and those “living today” we are able to continue to enjoy our freedom!

I am reminded of a patriotic soirée I attended awhile back. There I met EXTRA TV celebrity host Mario Lopez and had the opportunity to hear what he had to say about Supporting American Heroes. I was touched by his message.

Let me share my Cyndi’s Secrets™!

Mario Lopez told Me…… Support American Heroes!!

 Shhhh! Come with me!

(Photography in today’s column by JeffKnightPhotography.com)

The event took place at the Icon Ultra Lounge in Hollywood. It was a glamorous night of champagne, Hors D’ouvres, red carpet and the requisite pretty people. EXTRA TV’s Mario Lopez was the host. Below is a shot of Mario and me on the red carpet.

Mario talked about how important it is to acknowledge people that spend their life working to keep us safe. He spoke of an organization and cause near and dear to him called SupportAmericanHeroes.com This group believes in supporting ALL OUR AMERICAN HEROES – our fire fighters, police officers, brave servicemen and women, our wounded warriors and our fallen heroes. They have created a loyalty card program to help support American Heroes when you shop.

During the evening I had the opportunity to talk further with Mario. In the photos below he and I pose on the V.I.P rooftop of the Icon Ultra Lounge. It had an awesome view! I congratulated Mario for his work on this cause. I added that In addition to SupportAmericanHeroes.com there are numerous groups that raise funds for our heroes and all of us should do our part. I also think that whenever we can, we should just stop and simply say, “Thank You!” :)

Ok- now let’s have some fun! After all, that is what makes our freedom so gosh darn wonderful!

There were a number of celebrities that came out on this night. Early arrival in the left photo is recording artist who goes by the name of The Mad Musician! On the right I pose with the evenings event producer Ben Decker. He looks extremely calm and cool for a man who just organized a Hollywood hit!

In the photo on the left is the lovely Rachel Ley who is a star of VH1's, "Saddle Ranch". In the next photo is red carpet regular Kaptain Designs.

I enjoyed chatting with Richard Stuart and his wife Esther. Richard is the CEO of HELP Worldwide which was one of the evenings sponsors!

Below on the left is Jessica Hall. She is a Playboy Channel Radio Host. We shared a few giggles. shhhh! :) In the photo on the right is American Idol finalist Tim Urban.

Below I pose with the real stars of the night - three of our US Marines. It was my privelege to meet them and say THANK YOU! The guys are from left to right Corporal Clark, Corporal Zavata, and Corporal Ellis.

In the next photo is the beautiful Izabella St. James. She is a Playboy spokesperson and author of the bestselling "Bunny Tales".

Below I pose with the "PARTY CRASHERS"! .... Every party has them. These two cuties are grad students from the neighboring USC campus! lol! On the left is Brenda Contreras and on the right is Cecilia Chavaria.

The handsome man in the hat below is actor Jay Giannone (The Departed, Entourage) In the photo on the right I pose with Katie Cleary. Yep - she is one of those beautiful Deal or No Deal models from the hit TV show.

Lots of exciting things happening for these ladies. On the left is actress Caryn Ward Ross (BET Networks "The Game", "Sisters" and the upcoming "He's Mine Not Yours".) In the center is vocalist Heather Necole.

There was more fun to be had on the exclusive V.I.P. rooftop! I had an absolute blast hanging out with this group!  :)

From left to right are David Collins (VH1 Saddle Ranch), Nick Frank (VH1 Saddle Ranch), Lark Voorhies (Saved by the Bell), Eric James (Model), Izabella St. James (Playboy spokesperson, author of “bunny Tales”) Guy Kochlani (founder of ATB Talent), Jacob Diamond (J-Edgar)
Yep- I love my job! Shhhhh!

Talent agent Guy Kochlani (center) proves that he really is a "big" man in town. I love his down to earth sense of humor! Below he poses with left to right Nick Frank, David Collins, Eric James and Jacob Diamond! What a fun bunch!

Here are some shots from the club. What a great place!

Well - another fun Hollywood night for a great cause! I hope you feel the JOY of living in a FREE country. I count my blessings everyday. So..... as we remember the solemness of Pearl Harbor, let us rejoice in a life that we live because of our BRAVE AMERICAN HEROES!  My message is simple today. Please show your support by contributing to any number of  good organizations such as SupportAmericanHeroes.com and at the very least always remember to say THANK YOU!

Until next time - See you on the red carpet! :)

Life is too short so I say – InJOY!

Indy/NASCAR Legend Returns! (Thu, 01 Dec 2011 16:27:00 GMT)

Welcome to My Cyndi’s Secrets™ Infotainment Page
Embrace a joy of life -.Joie de vivre!
Be the Personal Best YOU Can Be!  Ooo la la!

 Shhhhh! My Cyndi’s Secrets™

 My Dear Friends,

Meet Indy/NASCAR legend Willy T. Ribbs. Let me take you to an exclusive reception where I had the privilege of chatting with this all time great! The evening was laced with inspiration from beginning to end. That’s Infotainment!

Let me share my Cyndi’s Secrets™!

In today’s Column:

Indy/NASCAR Legend Returns to Racing!

Pssssst! Come with me!

Willy T. Ribbs is the first African American Driver to qualify at both the Indy 500 and the NASCAR Winston Cup Series. His team was backed by Bill Cosby and he got his first break in racing by Hollywood actor Paul Newman. How cool that I was invited to this private reception for Willy. I could hardly wait to meet this remarkable man I had heard so much about. While waiting, I couldn’t help but pose in front of this large screen which displayed a classic racing photo of Willy along with Paul Newman.

This year Willy T. Ribbs has teamed up with Beverly Hills based Momentum Entertainment and Sports LLC for development of his 2012 marketing and on track racing sponsorship program. How exciting that he is returning to racing. The wonderful event was hosted by The Xperience, a fabulous events company based in Hollywood.

This man is ageless and obviously is living a healthy My Cyndi’s Secrets™ lifestyle. I had the opportunity to chat with him. Watch the video below and you’ll be surprised to find out how our beloved Willy stays in shape.

The interview  below confirms my philosophy that if you want to achieve a healthy lifestyle; find an activity that you enjoy doing! It will be easier to stick to it. Most people say,"I don’t like to exercise" and yet they never ever try to do anything other than sit on the sofa.  Helllllo! There are a zillion ways to remain active in life. You may surprise yourself at how easy it is. Just get out there and move.  Ok- I digress!
Click the link. Sometimes the first video on this page is a little slow starting and you may have to double click.

Willy is truly amazing. He is not afraid to return to racing at an age when others think about sitting around doing nothing. He told me that working on his Texas Ranch helps him to stay in shape which is beautiful example of how the M.B.S. System™ (Mind, Body, Spirit) can restore balance in life. I also discovered that this legend is a sport shooter in the National Sporting Clays Association. Wow!

Yes- once again I am honored to have met a man that is both figuratively and “literally” such an uplifting individual! Tee hee! See photo below:

Check out the car that Willy drove to the reception. It’s called a VISION! It truly is a vision and your little Cyndi Sleuth loves cars. I can’t help it – I may be in LA but I’m a Detroit girl in my heart and my love of cars is in my blood!

Here are a few other shots of me with the VISION. It’s no secret that working as an international auto shows model/actress was a very important part of my life. I talk about it all the time. Well here I am once again posing. This car rocks!

That's Hollywood Photographer Idan Ozeri Tal in the photo on the left. He's a regular on the red carpet and numerous events.

Willy makes his entrance at the reception to a more than welcoming crowd!

The reception took place at XAI Verandah Lounge in Hollywood! A fun time was had by all!

Well, I've gotta scoot! I hope that you have been inspired by Willy T. Ribbs as much as I have been. The moral of his story is that each of us can strive to be our personal best each and every day of our lives. Don't let age, race, gender or any other real or imagined  limitations stand  in your way of living life to the fullest! Find acitivities that bring you joy and do them. There may be things in life that you are good at and don't even know. Heck - who cares if you are world champion as long as you are having fun and striving to be YOUR personal best.

Soooo until next time -  Ladies and Gentlemen start your engines! Get revved up to get out there and live.... really live!  Shhhhhh! :)

Life is too short so I say – InJOY!

 Love ya,
Cyndi Targosz

Shhhhh! My Cyndi’s Secrets™

 My Dear Friends,

When I got the invite to attend the post fight party after the win of Manny Pacquiao over Juan Manuel Marquez, I jumped at the opportunity to meet this incredible athlete. Some people thought the fight was controversial but quite frankly - I didn't care! I'm a Manny fan from the get-go! For the few that may not know, Manny Pacquiao is a WBO Welterweight World Champion Boxer and the highest rated pound for pound boxer in the world! Wow! And I mean Wow! The cool thing that I discovered is that not only is Manny a world class fighter in the ring but  he's a man determined to knock out poverty. Now that’s My Cyndi’s Secrets™ infotainment! It’s not just about having fun but living life to the fullest in a truly meaningful way!

Pssssst! Come With Me! Shhhhh! :)

Manny Pacquiao’s Post Fight Party and CieAura Energy Bracelet Launch!

(Photos in todays column were taken by Erlinda Olvera of ErlindaPhotos.com)
Hollywood was full of life recently as Manny “PacMan” Pacquiao fans gathered together for a very exclusive event to honor the world-renowned boxing champion and support his ongoing fight against poverty. CieAura, the evenings sponsor and premiere distributor of Transparent Holographic Chip™ technology, highlighted their partnership with Pacquiao with the launch of the Manny Pacquiao Energy Bracelet. It’s the first product in the company’s Signature Collection designed to promote balance in the body. I thought it looked adorable in yellow! :) Proceeds from the event will go to CieAura’s main charity, Malaya House in Tondo, Philippines and the Pacquiao Partnership for the Poor, Inc...

Pictured below is the CEO and founder of CieAura Ken Rasner (l) and the President of CieAura Jerry “JY” Yerke (R). I was delighted to find out that Jerry is a former Detroiter.

What caught my attention was the fact that this new technology available in these energy bracelets is designed to create balance. The My Cyndi’s Secrets philosophy is all about living in balance. That's why I created the M.B.S. System ( Mind, Body, and Spirit)!! Therefore I was anxious to hear about Manny’s new bracelet. Below is my interview with CEO Ken Rasner.

Click the video link below. Sometimes you have to click twice for the video to play and the first video in this column may be a little bit slower.

Now for some fun!!! The event took place at the exclusive Vogue Hollywood Supper Club!

Most of the media was not allowed to come inside to meet Manny. Your little Cyndi Sleuth was determined to meet this world class champion - especially one who is doing so much good for poor people with his CieAura connection. I was thrilled to be invited to his V.I.P. table and delighted by his welcoming spirit. Here is a man who "walks the talk"! This my friends is what celebrity should be about!

Manny had to be tired after training for such a huge fight. It was cool being near his ENERGY and sharing My Cyndi's Secrets! Shhhh!

As the PacMan took to the stage, he greeted the excited crowd, thanked them for coming and stated, “CieAura and Manny Pacquiao will knock out poverty!”  Can you find me cheering him on in the photo below for this great cause? :) Life is good!

I had a wonderful conversation with Marie "Ia" Jimenez who is the Director of Socia Media for CieAura. She explained a little bit more about her company, the bracelet and her "Secret" past time!  :)

Attending the party was Actor and former professional baseball player for the San Francisco Giants Casey Bond! He has appeared in the television series Gene Simmons Family Jewels, numerous commercials and print ads, and most recently he played the role of Chad Bradford in the 2011 film MONEYBALL!

It was great fun chatting with Death Valley actor RJ Cantu!

Lorenzo Lamas and his lovely wife stopped by on the red carpet to share some of My Cyndi's Secrets!

As a certified lifestyle/fitness author I personally was thrilled to have the opportunity to chat with Tae Bo Creator  Billy Blanks and his lovely wife. Just wait till you find out what is next up for Billy and I am NOT TALKING FITNESS!  You heard it here first! Shhhhh!

OK- I'm a girlie girl! Soooo I just needed a little touch up! lol!

 My Moment on the carpet!

In the first photo below is the beautiful Erin Murphy who played Tabitha in "Bewitched"! The following photo is a shot of Deb Carson who is an anchor for FOX Sports!

Meet Maricelle Mendelson in the interview below. Just wait till you find out why this "strong" women is WORLD FAMOUS! SHHHH!

Having fun at the party are in the first photo model/actress Kristina Djadenro along with Ron Eckerman. Ron is a plane crash survivor and the former tour manager for the Lynyrd Skynrd Rock Band. He is also the author of his new book, "Turn It Up."  which is a memoir of life on the road with the band, their rise to international stardom, and their tragic plane crash that killed singer and songwriter Ronnie Van Zant, guitarist Steve Gaines, back-up singer Cassie Gaines, and assistant tour manager Dean Kilpatrick.

In the next photo is actress Karimah Westbrook. She was recently seen in the movie The Rum Diary with Johnny Depp, Her character name is, Papa Nebo.

In the third photo below and always a well liked red carpet regular is Brian Ronalds who is half of the popular Ronalds Brothers production team.

It's a tough job posing with these two guys; actors Gem Danois (l) and Gilles Marini (r)!   :)

Actor Gilles Marini is famous for melting female hearts. We have seen him catching the attention of of the Samantha character in the first "Sex and the City" movie. He also kept hearts beating as a romantic love interest in the TV show "Brothers and Sisters".  I felt it only fitting that I provide a little fun flirting in the following interview! .... all in good fun - of course! Shhhh! Click the link:

Party crasher "Jack" pictured below was spotted trying to enter the party. Though he dressed inconspicuously, he was not allowed inside. The bouncers told him that JACK should go BACK "IN THE BOX" rather than to this BOXing party! lol!

Here is a close up of a few of the bracelets worn by party attendees!

Actor Chriss Anglin (JFK) had a few words to say. Click the link:

At the party there was a silent auction of some very rare collectibles. This is my Vanna White moment! tee hee!

Every party has a bouncer and that's why we had DIABLO! My photographer took a photo of the tattoo that Diablo displayed when he opened up his shirt but I decided that is best not to post that shot. :) Nevertheless, Diablo did a GREAT job!

Well another fun night and a really great cause! For more information about Manny and his Energy bracelet you can visit CieAura.com  Until next time....... Bye and see you on the red carpet! :)

Life is too short so I say – InJOY!

  Love ya,
Cyndi Targosz

In today’s Column:

Artists for Peace “Never Again” Concert & Stevie Wonder Tribute!

I love being backstage at Hollywood Events. I always have and think it is in my blood. So you can imagine my excitement to be invited to the Artists for Peace “Never Again” Concert and Stevie Wonder Tribute. The roster of talent that appeared was enough to make me jump for joy. In addition to Stevie there was Chaka Khan, Eric Benet, Pras Michel, Malina Moye, Lalah Hathaway, Flora Martirosian, Judith Hill, and Bobby Brown to name a few.  Other celebs who came out to show support were Ron Artest, Michael Stone, Tommy Davidson, Affion Crockett, Marcus Paulk, Lawrence Hilton Jacobs and Mann among others.

This annual event was founded by Flora Martirosian whose mission is to unite artists from around the world for awareness campaigns.  Yeah! Yeah! I know it sounds like another event where celebs gather and act sweet and nice and then go home. However, this night was different. The concert created a multicultural mix of music that indeed spoke to everyone. There was a heavy Armenian influence that touched my heart. Actor Ken Dativitan (Borat) spoke of “The Great Crime” and how genocide should “Never Again” happen. I can still remember the energy in the Amphitheatre when Flora Martirosian sang. I did not understand a word she said in her native Armenian tongue and yet I understood “everything” she sang. I felt the pain. I felt the joy! I felt the Music!  At one point I turned around and saw the packed house singing and clapping and swaying. The entire crowd was united for that moment in time. Music truly is the universal language. This concert gave a rare glimpse of how artists can help influence global change as well as educate and prevent further crimes against humanity. Oh – it may not be a perfect planet as I am not naïve to the evil that exists in the “real” world but it was indeed a perfect night!

Now for some fun stuff!

A highlight of the night for me was hearing guitarest Malina Moye! Watching and listening to her music was amazing. They say she is one of the greatest guitar players in the world. I believe it!  Fender guitars recognizes her as one of their first African American left handed upside down female endorsees to join the Fender family. She is great! In today’s "Double Feature" Column:

1)    Dracula Film Star Carla Laemmle’s 102nd Birthday Celebration!
2)    Fun Vampiress Photos from Hollywood Mansion Secret Halloween Party!

Dracula Film Star Carla Laemmle’s 102nd Birthday Celebration!
Silent movie star Carla Laemmle recently celebrated her 102nd birthday in Beverly Hills, CA. This was a very private and, compared to most Hollywood soirees, an intimate event. I was thrilled to be invited and honored to have the privilege of meeting the beautiful and talented Carla Laemmle.  I was inspired by her radiance, sensuality and ageless beauty. Being there, gave me the opportunity to experience a rich part of our Hollywood History. Wow! How cool!
Look at the lovely photos below of Carla then and now! These were taken by JeffKnightPhotography.com as were several others from Carla's party. You can tell which ones they are by his watermark! She was stunning then and still is today.

Watch my interview below with Carla and you can see why I passionately believe in the My Cyndi’s Secrets philosophy of living life to the fullest!

Carla is still working! Yep - at 102! In fact, she recently wrapped from the feature film, “Mansion of Blood” , with Gary Busey, Robert Picardo and Terry Moore. She is recognized as the first to ever speak in a talking horror picture, DRACULA (1931). The opening line in the movie is the title of her new documentary film,  “Among the Rugged Peaks – The Carla Laemmle Story”. It’s narrated by award winning actress Sally Kirkland and hopeful to make next year’s Oscars.

Carla, whose uncle was Universal Pictures Founder Carl Laemmle, first arrived in Hollywood as a classically trained ballet dancer in 1921 and in fact appeared as the prima ballerina in The Phantom of the Opera in 1925. She is the only child to ever live on the lot of Universal Pictures. To get the real scoop listen to my interesting interview with her documentary film producer Tom Tangen.

The party took place at the Laemmle family home in Beverly Hills, CA.

Here is a shot of Carla's birthday cake. How cool that a  Dracula film star should have a birthday so close to Halloween! Woooo!

LEGENDARY COMEDY WRITER Larry Siegel was a guest at the party.(Carol Burnett, Laugh-in, etc.) He makes me laugh!!  This man is too funny! AGELESS HUMOR! :) click the link for my fun interview:

The group gathered around the pool to watch the screening of the new Tom Tangen documentary.

Another guest was actor and stunt fighter David Dossett. David also is inspired by Carla. He shared that even though he loves tattoos and plays bad-boy characters he was a softie underneath it all. Listening to him dish about his respect for Carla, I could see that warm fuzzy side too! :)

Other guests included Hollywoods beloved P.P. Boyz.. I'm talking about Patrik Simpson and Pol 'Atteu. The P.P. Boyz received a lot of media attention for being best friends with the late Anna Nicole Smith. On this night though, the mood was happy as we dished about life after Anna Nicole and the birthday of Carla. I personally fell in love with their cute french furry four legged friend. Click the link for My Cyndi's Secrets!

Another guest and Carla Laemmle fan, is actor Chriss Anglin best known for his role in the film Dead Man Walking. He also plays the ghost of John F. Kennedy in the film An American Carol.

Below is my interview with actress/model Natasha Alam. Natasha is a PLAYBOY COVERGIRL. You have also seen her on the TV show TRUE BLOOD  and in numerous other work. However, on this day we celebrate a woman we both look up to- CARLA! Click the link:

Sharing My Cyndi's Secrets at the party is one of Hollywoods most beloved casting directors, Marvin Paige. He is responsible in part for discovering John Stamos, Demi Moore and many others.  Ok- he is also a Jack Benny look-alike! :)

I had a delightful chat with Rick Atkins who is a long time friend of Carla and the author of her biography. Click the link:

Below is a special Halloween Treat! Click the link and watch Carla's line in DRACULA (1931)

I am so blessed to have some wonderful people work with me. Below is a photo of two STARGLOW Staff members at Carla's party! They are Ashton Rank (l) and Greg Disse (r)

Fun Vampiress Photos from Hollywood Mansion Secret Halloween Party!

 Boo!

It's Vampiress Cyn again! Let me take you to a fun Hollywood Halloween Mansion Party!

Shhhh!

 :

This event occured at a secret location as do all really cool Hollywood Parties. it  was organized by a  trendy hip Lifestyle Entertainment company. More about them at another time. However,  I had to drive up in the mountains and it required a photo ID before one could even get beyond the gates. It was very exclusive. Of course, I got lost on the way! Some things never change! lol!  The photo below and several from this party were taken by Bob Delgadillo Events Photography. You can tell which ones they are by his watermark

 Psssst! Come in with me!

Here is a shot of the beautiful Vampiress Girls! There certainly was not a shortage of these creatures of the night at this party!

Below I pose with Kevin Mark. Kevin is the president of Sales and Marketing at Elan Vital Pharmaeuticals. He also shared with me information about a new venture he is passionate about  that I can't disclose entirely.  Suffice to say that in February of 2012 there will be a huge announcement. Remember - you heard it here first! Stay tuned! Shhhh! My Cyndi's Secrets! ummmm -  I mean my "Cyn" Secrets! tee hee! ;)

One of the evenings entertainers was the ever popular Oskar Rivera picured below. By the looks of the photo on the right; it is safe to say that Oskar is NOT an angel! lol! :)

A few more shots of the estate.

Until next Halloween.....  Vampiress "Cyn" is signing out!  Shhhh! My "Cyn" Secrets! ;)

Life is too short so I say – InJOY!

  Love ya,
Cyndi Targosz

Hal David’s All Star Tribute! (Wed, 26 Oct 2011 04:45:00 GMT)

Welcome to My Cyndi’s Secrets™ Infotainment Page
Embrace a joy of life -.Joie de vivre!
Be the Personal Best YOU Can Be!  Ooo la la!

Shhhhh! My Cyndi’s Secrets™

 My Dear Friends,

You have heard me say many times that I am a big city girl with a Midwest heart. Perhaps that's why when I attend a Hollywood gala like the all star tribute to celebrate award winning lyricist Hal David’s 90th birthday, I still gush!  It’s my way of bringing home to you the EXPERIENCE of living life to the fullest! This is not merely gossip; it’s about becoming an enlightened person.  I love my life and sharing it with you – That’s Infotainment!

Pssssst! Come with me!

Let me share my Cyndi’s Secrets™!
(Please click the recommend buttons if you like)

In today’s Column:

Hal David’s All Star Tribute!

Academy Award-winning lyricist Hal David is an icon in the music industry. He’s written such greats as, “Raindrops Keep Fallin’ on My Head.” “This Guy’s in Love With You,” and “I’ll Never Fall in Love Again,” His songs “Don’t Make Me Over”, “Close to You”, and “Walk on By” are all in the Grammy Hall of Fame. People of all ages are familiar with his million plus sellers that have become pop standards such as “Do You Know the Way to San Jose,” “What the World Needs Now is Love,”  “I Say a Little Prayer”, “(There’s) Always Something There to Remind Me,” “One Less Bell to Answer” and “To All The Girls I’ve Loved Before.”……………………………..

Hal David certainly deserves all those industry accolades. In fact, he just received his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. I could go on and on about his awards yada yada! However, I  pause! .... Instead, I personally want to pay tribute to Mr. David for an even bigger reason. Hal David makes music that touches our lives and hearts! His lyrics aren't just "words"! They represent the "tapestry" of our lives. His songs take us to a place, a feeling, and a welcome escape. We smile, cry, laugh and somehow the whole world seems a little bit better. We know that we are not alone. Hal David has given us a great gift with his talent that will conitnue to live on for generations. To meet him and his lovely wife in person is a privilege. My life is enriched. I know that I speak for countless fans and My Cyndi’s Secrets members when I simply and sincerely say to Hal David – THANK YOU!!!!

Ok - that being said, let's go to the party! :)

The Hal David Tribute took place at the Mark Taper Forum which is in downtown Los Angeles. It was a perfect place to celebrate his 90th birthday. How fitting that this happy event benefits both the Blue Ribbon of the Music Center (promotes and supports educational, cultural, and community programs) and The ASCAP Foundation (dedicated to nurturing music talent),

The woman who is responsible for organizing a large part of the gala is the charming Eunice David. (Hal David's Wife). I had a delightful conversation with her. Click the link below and find out part of what Hal David  was attracted to when he  first met his beloved Eunice! Shhhhhh! ;) BTW- sometimes the first video you play may be a little slow. You may also need to double click the link.

As an infotainment journalist and author, I know the huge amount of energy and discipline it takes to put thoughts together on the written page in a way that makes sense. It can be grueling. Whew! I can't even imagine the depth the musical mind must go through to make the magic of lyrics linger in our memory, as they do in a Hal David song. Wow -  I am inspired!

Hal was an absolute delight to chat with in person and was gracious enough to let me sing Happy Birthday to him.  I smile!  Click the link and see why:

:

Here is a shot of the Mark Taper Forum in Downtown Los Angeles.

When one thinks of Hal David, you can't help but remember another icon; Burt Bacharach. These two men have collaborated on numerous music projects. Burt is pictured below (l) with Hal (c) and Eunice (r) What a great team!

The evening consisted of one legendary performer after another. One of my all time favorites is the great B.J. Thomas! This man is ageless and so is his popularity! Not only did I get to sing Happy Birthday to Hal but I got to sing "Raindrops Keep Fallin on My Head" to B.J. Thomas!  Is that cool or what?  Now, B.J. did not hand me a record contract  but I like to think that I at least made him smile. :)

BTW-  i did get some scoop  on B.J. Thomas!  He confessed that he....."Bleep &*&*^#^&*@#$%^".... you have to click the link to find out! Shhhhhh!

I recently met the amazing singer/songwriter and former Detroiter Smokey Robinson and his lovely wife Frances, at the Society of Singers award banquet where he was the guest of honor. You can check back in the archives of this column if you want to review that interview. At that time Smokey shared with me that he loved oatmeal! As a lifestyle coach and fitness expert that was great news. However, now that I ran into him at this event I wanted to get the real juice!  So your little Cyndi Sleuth dug deeper! Ah ha! Find out what is Smokey Robinson's Secret Weapon?!!!! Click the link:

It was cool to see  Motown Founder and another former Detroiter, Berry Gordy pictured below. Berry was also at the Society of Singers Award banquet and in fact presented the Ella award to Smokey Robinson. My interview with Berry is also in the archives of this column.

I extended my hand out to Berry. Those of us from Detroit certainly have a connection but I wasn't sure he would remember me.

ummm! I guess he did! :)

Next up is TV Game show host Monty Hall, famous for the game show LET'S MAKE A DEAL! Leave it to me to have this little "OOPS!" during our interview! Click the link:

Below is a shot of the gathering just before the tribute concert.

Academy Award- winning composer and songwriter, Paul Williams served as the Master of Ceremonies. I chatted with him at the event. Something about Paul Williams is not up to "par"!  Click the link to find out! Shhh!

 My moment on the carpet!

"WHAT THE WORLD NEEDS NOW IS LOVE SWEET LOVE"!! Are u humming that classic song in your head!? The lovely singer/songwriter who made the Hal David song popular  is of course, JACKIE DESHANNON! She still performs her music regularly and as always, melts mens hearts. Click link:

SHE'S THE SINGING VOICE OF MANY FILM CHARACTERS- Anya in Anastasia, Odette in The Swan Princess, and Kiara in The Lion King II:Simba's Pride etc.  I'm talking about broadway actress/singer LIZ CALLAWAY!  Liz also performed in The Look of Love, a 2003 musical revue of the songs of Burt Bacharach and Hal David!  In the photo below I stop and reflect. How blessed I am to have met so many wonderful talented people on this night. Each of them have taken the gifts they have been given and given back to the world. Each of us must do the same thing. Achieving greatness is not about fame and fortune but about taking your God-given talents and being the personal best that you can be! Now that's My Cyndi's Secrets! ;)

Bye for now! See you next time -  on the red carpet! Shhhh!

Life is too short so I say – InJOY!

 Love ya,
